Hello neighbors,

Please see below our presentation slides from our Public Safety meeting on April 5th, 2025

We want to acknowledge that our announcement of police emphasis patrols starting in and around Magnuson Park is the culmination of work by so many people over the last year.

We, the VRCC board, have been working on your behalf (our neighbors in NE Seattle) and lobbying city leaders to help make our greater neighborhood safer for all.

As we stated at our safety meeting on the 5th and in our recap of this meeting, these city leaders were from many different parts of our city government including, but not limited to:

the mayor’s office, Seattle city council (including our D4 CM Rivera), parks department, stake holders in Magnuson Park & the police department. As well as neighbors from all NE Seattle neighborhoods.

We thank all of these city leaders and our neighboring communities for the support, help and work to end this violent crime in our community!

In the end, we all deserve some level of appreciation for helping to make our neighborhood safer, it takes a village.

And you, our neighbors, the people living with and through this insane increase in violent crime every day deserve the most thanks for using your voice to let our city government know what has been happening in our neighborhood and what you want and need our city leaders to do to stop this violent crime wave in our community.

We would not be getting the additional police patrols in our area if not for your involvement!

We would also like to remind all of you that your voice matters and our Call to Action is to continue to contact our city officials and let them know what we need them to do. Sample letters are linked below. Please reach out to our city officials by the end of April with your concerns and comments. It will make a difference!
