This sad news came out as we were all gathering in View Ridge Park for our annual Party in the Park.
We, the VRCC, and all of our neighbors are beyond concerned about the escalation in violence in our neighborhood through the late summer and into this Fall.
This is now the 2nd shooting death around Magnuson Park in less than a month.
This is added to the parting, assaults and gun violence that have occurred in the park this summer and the street racing that is happening along Sand Point Way by the park.
The VRCC and all of our NE Seattle community councils are calling on our city officials and SPD to meet with our community to explain this escalation in violence and let us know what they have and will do to stop this from happening in our neighborhoods.
