Hello neighbors,

Our important community safety meeting is 1 week away, April 5th, 2025 at 9am in the lunchroom at View Ridge Elementary.

This is a ‘neighbor to neighbor’ meeting/discussion about the rise in violent crime in the neighborhoods surrounding Magnuson Park. Our goal is to inform our neighbors about what’s been happening over the last year and possible solutions to end this violent criminal activity in our community.

No city officials will be at this meeting.

We have permission from the Sandpoint Methodist Church, 4710 NE 70th Street, next door to the school, to use their parking lot during our meeting. Please be respectful of the church and move your vehicle after the meeting.

See you next Saturday,

Your View Ridge Community Council

Let’s work together to end the +112% increase in violent crime in our area! We’ll review what’s been happening & proposals for action.   Click link to RSVP for this meeting: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/stop-violent-crime-in-our-neighborhood-tickets-1275212538029?aff=oddtdtcreator   Date: Saturday, April 5th, 2025 Time: 9am Location: View Ridge Elementary School   Description: Over the past year, we have seen a significant rise in shootings, burglaries, and other violent crimes, many of which have been well-documented in news reports, SPD crime data, and public safety meetings. These crimes are not isolated incidents—residents are dealing with regular gunfire, break-ins, and violent altercations at all hours. The fear level in our community is at an all-time high, and we need a concrete plan of action to ensure the safety of our families, neighbors, and businesses. We’ll have a top line review of what’s been happening in our neighborhood and proposals for immediate action to interupt this increasing cycle of violent criminal activity. We are asking the city for more policing in our neighborhood and joining our neighboring communities in hiring private security to patrol our area. Thank you, Your View Ridge Community Council Crime Committee
