Hi everyone,
We want to share a quick update on the View Ridge Community Council (VRCC) meeting held on November 1. We had a strong turnout — 38 neighbors attended — and used a descriptive slide deck to walk through the agenda below.
Our main goal was to encourage people to sign up for one or more interest groups/committees, which will serve as the foundation for neighborhood projects and advocacy efforts. These committees will be the new format of the VRCC.
Why this matters
- We need to be proactive about the impacts of zoning and growth.
- Our influence in zoning and city discussions depends on the size and strength of our community.
- The more neighbors who are connected and involved, the stronger and more resilient we become.
- Connection is most sustainable when we’re working together toward shared goals — like those within interest groups.
What’s next
The next meeting will be on Saturday, November 15, where the 18 people who signed up will meet in breakout groups to develop plans of action for their chosen interest areas. All are welcome at this meeting to join one or more groups of interest.
Meeting – Saturday, November 15th, 2025 from 10a – 11a in the Library at View Ridge Elementary – 7047 50th Ave NE
There’s still plenty of time to join in. If you — or someone you know — would like to attend the next meeting or suggest a new interest group, please let me know.
(One great suggestion from the meeting was a “Safe Routes to Schools” group — a practical idea that keeps kids safe and may pull in younger families.)
